However, for some people there are distractions in the home which can make it difficult to focus on work, so here are some tips to help you set up your ideal work space:
- Decide which room to use as your home office
If you’re going to be working from home on a frequent basis, choose a quiet location away from noise and distractions, ideally with natural light. Make sure you’ve got a good internet connection and there’s no WiFi dead spots in the space.
- Get organised and declutter

- Think what you’ll need in your office

There will inevitably be more distractions whilst working at home, but try and minimise them as much as possible, eg if you have children at home put a note on the door with your working hours on.
- Create a routine
Although working from home brings more flexibility, set a schedule and stick to it most of the time. Having clear guidelines for when to work and when to turn off your work email helps many of those working from home maintain a work-life balance.
